Screed is a thin layer of material applied to floors and is used to create a smooth, level surface for flooring. It's a vital, especially to create a flat surface for laying flooring materials like carpet, tile, laminate flooring or wood. Screeding a floor increases the floor's durability and improves its appearance as the surface will be flat.

If you fit underfloor heating floating screed can help insulate floors, especially where underfloor heating is present.  Screed can be reinforced with glass fibres, polypropylene, or a metal mesh to make it stronger adding protection to pipe work.

Screeding a floor is particularly useful in bathrooms, where an uneven floor can cause water to pool.

There are three main types of screed - bonded, unbonded, and floating. The type of screed you use depends on the type of concrete base and your requirements. We will discuss the best option for you to ensure your needs are fully met.
